- What is the address?
- 4465 North Oakland Avenue Shorewood, WI Suite 360
- How soon should I get there?
- Please try to arrive 5 minutes early but no sooner than 15 minutes before your therapy session.
- Is it wheelchair accessible?
- Unfortunately, it is an old building and uses stairs only. There are 2 flights of stairs (1 of them is half the size).
- How do I check in?
- If there is an intern at the front desk you can ask them to check you in. If not, please text your therapist or wait in the lobby and they should be out at the start of your session to get you.
- How is it Sensory Friendly?
- With it being an old building, we are limited on what we can do. However, sensory sensitivity was at the forefront of our mind when designing the space. We consulted with a specialist who is autistic to make sure we are doing what we can to provide a space that feels safe and comfortable for as many people as possible. We provide:
- Covered, fluorescent free lighting that is dimmable.
- Dimmable floor/ table lighting
- No strong smells from diffusers, candles or incense.
- We use container diffusers for essential oils that can be sealed and put away when not in use.
- Range of seating options including, couches/ chairs, floor pillows, swing chairs, hammocks, fidget chair cushions, etc.
- Tactile art
- Disposable ear plugs
- Fidgets
- ND friendly sensory check ins & feeling check-ins
- Communication board
- We work on continuously growing our resources and are open to client suggestions.
- We also allow our clients to bring in things from home that make them more comfortable.

- What if the front door is closed and/or locked?
- Sometimes, if the therapist is the only one in the office and they need to step out between sessions, they may lock the door. If this happens, text your therapist to follow up with them.
- What if I cannot make it to the session or I am sick?
- Please let your therapist know as soon as possible. No shows and late cancellations are still charged the full agreed upon fee. It is possible to change your session to a virtual session instead or, if the therapist has availability, reschedule within the same week.
- It is past my start time and my therapist still has not come to get me. What should I do?
- Do not go to their office, they could be in an emergency session or they could even be in a different office that day as the offices are not assigned. Instead text/ email your therapist or check to see if they have contacted you. If you go 15 min without hearing from them, confirm that you have the day and time right and then it is up to you if you would like to leave or not. Email [email protected] to inform Nova the therapist did not show and you will not be financially responsible for that session. If they are late but you are still able to get about 45 min, the session will be charged as normal.
- Can I leave while my dependent is in their session?
- This is not allowed for children 14 and younger. In general, we advice against this as having a parent involved, even for a brief check-in can be beneficial to the therapy journey.
- Can I bring my kid(s)?
- We do recommend you try and have someone watch your kids during your session. This is your time and you deserve to be fully in the moment. However, life happens, so for the most part you are able to bring your kid(s) when needed.
- I am running late, what should I do?
- Start off by messaging your therapist and give a general idea of how long before you are there. You and your therapist will determine what the next best steps are. If you do not inform your therapist you’re running more that 15 min late, they are able to mark you as a no show.
