My Bio
Hello, my name is Maria! I use any pronouns. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in
Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee as well as
completing my practicum requirements at Nova Mental Health Services.
As a bisexual, genderfluid individual, I am very passionate about supporting queer individuals through the
multiple hurdles and successes that come with such identities. As someone who has tackled
their own mental health head-on, I would like to give back to the mental health community, as
they have aided me in forging a brighter future for myself.
I grew up and currently live in Milwaukee and earned my B.S. in Psychology, Art History, and
English from UW-Madison in 2024. My goal as a counselor-in-training is to foster an affirming,
welcoming, and supportive space where my clients feel safe and comfortable to be themselves
and share their stories and emotions.
Outside of school and counseling, you can find me reading, watching anime, listening to
musicals, and chatting with friends.
