My Bio

Hi, I’m Heidi, a licensed psychotherapist with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. Since 2014, I’ve been deeply committed to supporting individuals on their mental health journeys—especially those within the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities, including individuals with ADHD and autism. My practice is grounded in authenticity, empathy, and cultural awareness.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in a wide range of clinical settings. During my graduate training, I worked at Momentum for Mental Health in San Jose, where I supported clients navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, and substance use. I incorporated evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build effective coping strategies and emotional regulation skills.
Later, as a clinical intern at JFKU’s community-based counseling center in Pleasant Hill, I provided both individual and group therapy, including teletherapy sessions. I worked with clients to uncover the emotional roots of personal and relational conflict, always striving to create a space where people feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow.
In my work, I focus on helping clients reconnect with their values, improve self-awareness, and develop practical tools for everyday life. Whether you're exploring your identity, navigating neurodivergence, or managing stress and emotional overwhelm, I’m here to walk alongside you.
Outside the therapy room, I’m an active person who finds joy in CrossFit, mixed martial arts, team handball, horseback riding, and traveling. I also love deep conversations, good laughs, and meaningful time with my chosen family and friends.
If you're looking for a therapist who is warm, grounded, and genuinely committed to helping you thrive, I’d love to connect.
