My Bio
Hi, I’m Ben (he/him), a psychotherapist with a deep belief in the power of empathy, collaboration, and identity-affirming care. I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee in 2024 and my bachelor’s in psychology from Alverno College in 2012.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade working in community-based mental health. I supported autistic individuals, neurodivergent clients, people living with HIV, and those navigating co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges. These experiences shaped my strong person-in-environment perspective—mental health doesn't exist in a vacuum. It’s shaped by our relationships, communities, and the systems around us.
As a transgender man, I’m passionate about creating a safe, affirming space for LGBTQIA+ folks, especially those navigating identity, trauma, and life transitions. I also work closely with neurodivergent individuals (including ADHD and autism), teens and young adults, and people living with complex PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
In therapy, I show up with compassion, curiosity, and creativity. I believe healing looks different for everyone—and I’m here to support you in finding what works best for you.
Outside of the therapy room, I love crafting, playing tabletop and video games, listening to music and podcasts, and hanging out with my two cats, Luca and Haven.
